SEO & Publishing Pipeline PSEO: Custom Directives and Ambiguous Keywords

Some PSEO keywords are ambiguous — the AI may interpret them differently than you intend. For example, "operations recruiting" might produce content about corporate HR or back-office operations instead of manufacturing and production-floor staffing.

RogIQ does not support a ChatGPT-style correction during a single page generation. The best fix is Custom directives in PSEO Settings: client-level instructions appended to every generation.

Navigate to: Content → PSEO → Settings → Custom directives

When to use custom directives

Use custom directives when you would otherwise rename keywords to "trick" the AI (e.g. adding "Manufacturing" to a title, then deleting it from the result). Set the rule once per client instead.

  • Keywords or phrases with multiple meanings (operations, admin, clinical, etc.)

  • The AI keeps targeting the wrong job type or industry

  • Client-wide rules you want on every PSEO page (banned phrases, no salary stats, industry definitions)

After you save directives, regenerate pages that were created before the change.

Example: Operations recruiting = manufacturing

  1. 1

    Open PSEO Settings

Go to Content → PSEO → Settings and find Custom directives.

  2. 2

    Add a disambiguation rule

Paste instructions that define what the term means for this client. Example:

For this client, "operations recruiting," "operations roles," and "operations" mean manufacturing and production-floor staffing (plant supervisors, production managers, warehouse operations, line leads)—not corporate operations, HR admin, back-office, or general business operations jobs.

  3. 3

    Save and regenerate

Save settings. Regenerate any pages that were wrong before you added the directive, or edit them in the PSEO editor.

Frequently asked questions

Can I correct the AI mid-generation like ChatGPT?

Not today. Use Custom directives, a more specific title for a one-off, or edit/regenerate after generation.

Do directives update pages already generated?

No. Existing page HTML stays until you regenerate or edit the page.

Do directives apply to AI title generation?

Yes. Custom directives are included in PSEO generation flows that read client settings, including bulk title generation.
