Strategy Competitive Landscape

Competitive Landscape helps you understand how you stack up against your competitors — and gives RogIQ the context it needs to generate content that positions you favorably against them. The more you tell the system about your competition, the sharper and more differentiated your marketing becomes.

Navigate to: Strategy → Competitive Landscape

What the Competitive Landscape Does

Your competitive data feeds into:

  • Content differentiation — the AI knows what your competitors claim and can help you counter-position naturally in content

  • Market Intelligence — competitive signals, website changes, and messaging shifts are tracked automatically

  • Strategy Wizard — quarterly goals and content tactics factor in competitive gaps and opportunities

  • Keyword Strategy — SEO recommendations surface keywords where competitors are weak or where you have a clear advantage

Adding Competitors

  1. 1

Go to Strategy → Competitive Landscape

Expand Strategy in the navigation and click Competitive Landscape.

  2. 2

    Click + Add Competitor

Click the + Add Competitor button.

  3. 3

    Enter their details

    Fill in:

    • Company Name — the competitor's name as it's commonly known

    • Website URL — their primary website (used for automated tracking)

    • Why Clients Choose Them — what they do well or what makes them attractive to your shared prospects

    • Their Weaknesses — where they fall short (delivery, price, specialization, service, etc.)

    • How You Win Against Them — your key differentiators when competing head-to-head

  4. 4

    Save

Click Save. RogIQ will begin tracking their website and market presence through Market Intelligence.

The "How You Win Against Them" field is the most important one for content purposes. Be specific — "We're faster and more personal" is too vague. Try: "We have a dedicated account manager for every client and guarantee a shortlist within 5 business days, compared to their 2–3 week average."

What Gets Tracked Automatically

Once a competitor is added, RogIQ's Market Intelligence module monitors them continuously:

SignalWhat's Tracked
Website ChangesHomepage updates, new service pages, messaging shifts
Content PublishingNew blog posts, case studies, and thought leadership
Job PostingsHiring signals that suggest expansion into new markets or services
Social ActivityEngagement trends and campaign launches
Pricing / OffersAny public-facing pricing or promotional changes
Press & NewsCoverage, announcements, and executive quotes

You can view all tracked signals in Strategy → Market Intelligence.

Competitive Positioning in Content

When generating blog posts, social content, or landing pages, the AI uses your competitive data to:

  • Avoid their talking points — if a competitor heavily promotes "speed," the AI will find ways to lead with your differentiators instead

  • Create comparison content — you can generate "us vs. them" style content or FAQ pages that address common comparisons buyers make

  • Identify content gaps — topics your competitors cover that you haven't yet, or vice versa

Frequently Asked Questions

How many competitors should I add?

3–6 is ideal. Add your most direct competitors — the ones you lose deals to most often or that prospects mention when they're comparing options. You can always add more later.

Will the AI mention competitors by name in my content?

No. The AI uses competitive context to sharpen your positioning and differentiation, but it won't name competitors in content unless you explicitly ask it to in a specific prompt. Direct comparison content is a manual choice, not automatic.

How do I see what the system has learned about my competitors?

Go to Strategy → Market Intelligence to see all tracked competitor signals, website changes, and the competitive playbook RogIQ has built for each competitor.

Can I remove a competitor?

Yes. From the Competitive Landscape page, open the competitor card and click Archive. This stops tracking and removes them from AI context without deleting the historical data.
